The challenge of sci-fi is that a new world with all its dimensions has to be imagined. It has to be populated by characters – living or machines – that are distinct, yet remain plausible. Keeping it believable – that is the key.

Even by the end, you can’t guess how the two sides could resolve their differences, you know that you need to hold on tight and trust her imagination. Because the ending, when it comes, blows you away!
She asked insightful questions on the impact of being Indian on the book and the underlying thread of violence. Made me think!
As our landscape evolves, we will have to be accommodative, compassionate and inclusive, not because we are ‘women’, but because the future tide should not rise to the advantage of a select few like it did in the past.
